Instructor Rating Recurrency

December 2020 Promotional pricing $13,500#
Deposit to secure your place: $1,000 (non-refundable)

Package includes:

  • Classroom & briefings – 35 hours. Includes access to our internally developed long and pre-flight briefs. Your own set of briefs can be purchased for an additional $3000
  • DA40NG dual – 15 hours
  • FSTD – 1.5 hours
  • DA20 – 1.5 hours
  • Flight Test – One attempt included in your fees
  • Accommodation* – 13 days
  • Transport to college if needed.

All tuition fees to be finalised prior to flight test.
#Package price is based on 15 hours dual flight training in the DA40NG. Any additional hours required to reach competency will be charged at $480 per hour (VDO).
*Accommodation is only covered in your tuition fees for the advertised course duration of 13 days. Accommodation in excess of these periods will be the responsibility of the student and charged at $280p/w.

Instrument Rating with Multi-Engine class rating

  • Classroom & briefings – 20 hours. Includes full IREX theory course.
  • Textbooks, DAPs, Jepps and the IREX exam (ASPEQ) are not included.
  • DA40NG – 4 hours
  • DA42NG – 21 hours
  • FSTD – 22 hours
  • Flight Test x 2 – One attempt at each (MEA + IR) flight tests included in your fees.
  • Accommodation* 9 weeks
  • Transport to college if needed

*Accommodation is only covered in your tuition fees for the advertised course duration of 9 weeks. Accommodation in excess of these periods will be the responsibility of the student and charged at $280p/w.

Course cost and length can be adjusted if the candidate has already completed his/her IREX theory and IREX exam. This will be presented to the client in writing prior to enrolment.

Payment terms

This document only relates to your tuition fees. The student will encounter other (incidental) costs related to your study such as: food, entertainment, medical certificates, police checks, remedial training etc. These are summarised under section 4 of this form but is not included as part of your Schedule of Fees or your Fees agreement.
The fees calculated are based on the student completing the course/s in the timeframe specified and meeting all competencies according to the delivery schedule. Remedial training or re-sitting exams will incur additional costs. Incidentals are generally paid to third-party organisations and are not refundable.
Payment options: Payment can be made via credit card, bank deposit or cash. Please refer to your invoice for details.

  1. Course Deposit
    1. AIAC do not charge an Application fee.
    2. To secure your place in our program a Course Deposit is required 14 days prior to course commencement date.
    3. Course deposit is Non-Refundable and is used to source your study resources, pilot equipment and secure your accommodation.
    4. The course deposit is part of your total tuition fees.
    5. Failure to pay the deposit by the due date may see your enrolment cancelled.
  2. Course Fees
    1. AIAC is not approved under the Governments VET Student Help Loan scheme. All fees must be paid for by the student.
    2. All tuition fees are exclusive of GST.
    3. Remaining tuition fees are paid in advance.
      1. FIR recurrency course may be paid daily ‘as you fly’ unless other arrangements have been made.
      2. MEAIR course is to be paid in weekly installments unless other arrangements have been made.
      3. Either course may be paid in full prior to course commencement.
      4. AIAC’s finance manager and the client may agree on other payment terms if needed. These are to be placed in writing in the student file.
    4. Fees not received on or before the due date will cause AIAC to ‘stop training’. The student will not be able to incur further costs until the fees are paid. This may threaten the ability of the student to complete the course within the specified study period.
    5. Where fees are not paid on time, a late payment fee of $150 will be applied to your invoice to cover administration costs.
    6. Tuition fees include 1 (one) attempt at each flight test.
    7. Where a student chooses to defer his/her studies, AIAC will hold all pre-paid fees.
  3. Course fee inclusions
    1. Course fees include:
      1. Aircraft/FTD hire as set out above.
      2. One attempt at all flight tests
      3. Student resources, briefs and printing (excluding IREX text-book, DAPS, Jepps).
      4. Internet access at all locations
      5. All ground theory
      6. Landing fees & airport charges
      7. Transport to/from college if needed
      8. Shared, self-contained accommodation; including all utilities & internet access.
        1. AIAC reserve the right to charge students for excessive power, gas or water use.
  4. Course fee exclusions
    1. Fees do not include the following, or any item listed under ‘Incidental Costs’;
      1. Remedial flight training where the student requires more than the minimum flight hours set out above.
      2. Additional flight tests
      3. CASA exams (ASPEQ)
      4. Uniforms
      5. Meals
      6. Any CASA applications for licenses, ratings or medicals
      7. ASIC application and Police Checks (if required)
      8. Accommodation where the student does not complete the course within the advertised timeframe.
    2. Any additional charges incurred by the cadet in the course of training is to be settled in the final account reconciliation upon course completion. Payment is required before AIAC can issue any Certificate, Licence or Rating.
    3. Incidental costs paid to AIAC are non-refundable.
    4. Incidental costs paid to third-parties may or may not be refundable. Check with the provider for their refund policy.
  5. Recognition of Prior Learning/Credit Transfer
    1. Not applicable
  6. Cancellation of enrolment
    1. Students may cancel their enrolment without penalty (excluding your deposit) unless the cancellation is within 7 days of the course commencement date.
    2. Cancellations within the 7-day period, will incur a 10% administration fee of any pre-paid tuition fees made to AIAC.
    3. Cancellations within 3 days will incur a 30% administration fee.
    4. Cancellations within 2 business days may not be refunded.
    5. Course deposit & RPL/Credit transfer fees, and any payments made to third parties will not be refundable.
  7. Changes to Fees
    1. AIAC flight training is affected by a number of external influences which could cause possible fee fluctuations. For example, external factors such as fuel and government fees and charges could affect the cost of training. AIAC reserves the right to pass on fee increases where external factors affect the agreed upon cost of training. The student will be notified in writing 20 working days before any adjustments in fees will be implemented.
  8. Cooling off Period
    1. Generally, does not apply to education. A student may cancel enrolment without penalty before the course deposit has been paid. Once the deposit and required pre-paid tuition fees have been paid, fees will apply for any cancellations thereafter.
  9. Refund Policy
    1. Whether a student will or will not receive a refund depends on the reason for their request. A full refund should never be assumed. No refund will be given if the student is terminated from the college due to misconduct.
      1. Where the student withdraws by choice, or is withdrawn from the course through non-attendance, inability to proceed, non-compliance with rules etc., the unallocated pre-paid fees will be refunded less 10% administration fee. Fees paid in advance will be refunded pro-rata. If the college has already incurred expenses relating to the student’s training or future training and these fees cannot be recuperated, these amounts will be deducted from the refund. A statement will be provided giving a breakdown of the refund.
      2. Refunds will be issued within 20 days from receipt of cancelation forms.
      3. If a student defers his/her study, AIAC will hold all pre-paid fees.
    2. Refunds due to misconduct will be denied.
    3. Only fees paid into the accounts of AIAC can be refunded. Refunds will be issued to the personal bank account of the person that paid the fees or refunded to the same credit card that was used to pay the deposit. Refunds cannot be issued to third parties or other credit cards.
    4. Where AIAC is forced to cancel its operations or the agreement is terminated early or AIAC is unable to deliver the agreed to services or AIAC is forced to significantly delay the start of the course, the college will ensure that the student is fully refunded all unused pre-paid tuition fees within 20 working days of notifying the student.
    5. Application, recognition of prior learning and screening fees are non-refundable (if applicable). All other AIAC incidental costs (i.e. paid to AIAC) are non-refundable.
    6. Non-tuition fees paid to third-parties may or may not be refundable. Check the organisations refunds policy for more information.
    7. If the student disagrees with a refund, the student will have 20 working days to access the Complaints & Appeals policy.
  10. Complaints and Appeals
    1. If you disagree with a decision or would like to lodge an appeal, you may access our complaints and appeals policy and procedure. You will have 20 days to access our complaints and appeals procedures. Please contact your flight instructor or rto@aiacollege.com for more information.
  11. Incidental Costs
    1. The following gives you an idea of other costs involved in your training. The below are estimates. Whilst we aim to provide you with current and accurate information, AIAC accepts no responsibility for third-party pricing and changes that may have been introduced since publication of this document. It is the student’s responsibility to confirm any pricing from sources outside of AIAC. Some of these fees you may have already paid. If enrolling in the dual diploma, some costs will only need to be paid once, such as you ARN, ASIC, application fee etc. Most incidental costs are paid at the time of receiving a service and are therefore likely to be non-refundable. Check with the provider for more information. All AIAC incidental costs (i.e. paid to AIAC) are non-refundable.
